Sydney's First Experience at the Dentist

Sydney has joined us a few times now for Owen's dental check-ups. He had to go last week to get sealant applied to is adult molars, and I asked if they would be able to take a look at two of Sydney's teeth quickly while we were there (there were some stains that I wasn't able to get off with regular brushing and wanted to make sure they weren't cavities). On the way there I told her that she was finally going to get her turn at the dentist and she was SO excited.

We got there and Owen went first and did well. Then it was Sydney's turn and you could just see her excitement as she was lifted up in the chair, bent backwards and told to say "Aaaahhh". The dentist looked quick and knew right away that the stains were nothing of concern. Since this was not scheduled as an official cleaning (they do that when she turns 3), that was basically all there was to it. She counted Sydney's teeth for her and told her she was all done. Sydney immediately melted into tears - she was not ready for her turn to be over! The dentist commented that that was the first time a child has cried because they had to leave!
