Geocaching

This weekend we went Geocaching for the first time.  Can you say FUN??  You have got to check it out.  If you don't know about it, it's basically a community of "treasure hunters" that hide treasures (really, these are mostly just tupperware containers filled with knick-knacks, and sometimes just a log book for you to sign) and log the GPS location, leaving you to go out and hunt for them.  When you find one, you sign the log and return the cache for others to find.  You can take a knick-knack as long as you replace it with something of equal or lesser value.   The app is $10.00.   All you need is your smartphone and a pen. What better way for quality family time, exploring the outdoors/community together, all in the name of a good hunt!  The awesome thing is that these caches are all over the world, so anytime you go anywhere you can hunt for a cache!


Here is Owen finding a cache.  I loved this because we had to actually crawl through some brush and hike off the trail here and there to find these.
