We took Owen to his very first Cardinal's game! My Dad made some calls and had a friend give us 4 tickets for the Father's Day game. The seats were ah-maz-ing - 4th row behind home plate! Not a bad way to experience your first Cards game! Thanks to Dad for setting that up for us. Unfortunately, it was a 1:15 game on a day with full sun in the upper 90's. We had a great time, lost a lot of water weight via sweat, and had to pack it in early as the heat was too much to bear. Good thing we didn't stick it out because that game happened to go to 15 innings!
The library kicked off their summer reading program with a pancake picnic in the park (the theme this summer is "Reading is So Delicious"). They had Babaloo, a local kids entertainer, come and put on a show. The kids LOVED it, and it was a beautiful day to be out on a blanket under the big shady trees. Here are some pics of the fun. In the first one you can see Babaloo in the background with his guitar and the kids cracking up. The second one is during a part where they all got to bang on "drums."
We did two consecutive weeks of swim class in June. This was the first swim class Sydney ever took, and the first time Owen was in the "big" pool (where they do lessons for the older kids - it is not heated!). They both did great and seemed to enjoy it.
We were invited to spend the weekend in Indianapolis with Allie, Jarrett and the girls at Jarrett's parent's house. Thanks again to Tom and Carol for the wonderful accommodations and the great weekend! The highlight of the trip was the time spend boating in Geist Lake. The kids got to go tubing, and swimming, and I even attempted wakeboarding ("attempt" being the key word...).
