Fun Times

Last week Ben took a day off of work and we went to the Botanical Gardens with Owen to make one more official pre-baby family outing. It was a great time. I told Ben on our way out that my one requirement for the day was that we got a picture of the three of us together, but unfortunately that did not happen. Owen loved the water fountains. We spent a good 30-45 minutes just watching him run around and splash. Luckily I thought to bring his swimsuit and a change of clothes, so we let him go crazy. He also loved the music garden, which was no surprise. Here are some of my favorite pictures from our day.







This week was also the last day of Owen's playgroup for the year. It's a playgroup that is part of the Edwardsville school district, and is incorporated with the High School's Early Childhood Education class. For the last day, they had the playgroup in a local park and the high school students got to come along as well. Owen loves this group for two reasons. First, he loves the only male high school student, Adam, who always spends alot of time playing with him. Adam scored extra cool points with Owen at the park when he caught a fish with his bare hands and let Owen touch it. Boys! Second, his good buddy (and our next door neighbor) Grant is in playgroup and those two have become very attached lately. Even though we see him one or two times a day, the waterworks come on for both of them when it is time to part, and then when they see each other again it's like two long lost friends reuniting after years apart. Pretty cute.
