Owen turned THREE this past Thursday and we've had a bunch of excitement and activity around here to celebrate. On the morning of his b-day, we woke him up with a giant "3" balloon and he loved it. He was quickly confused and asked "is it my party?" and then worried "but we forgot my cake!?!" After explaining that his party would be in a few more days, he relaxed and enjoyed his balloon. He requested pancakes for breakfast, and then got to see his brand new big slide in the backyard. He liked the slide, but the balloon surely was the bigger hit. Later that day his buddies James and Belle came over to play and they had a great time playing outside in the sandbox (which has yet to be filed with sand!) and with his new croquet set from Belle. That night Ben and I took him to Red Robin ("Red Robbers" as Owen calls it - his favorite restaurant) where they sung to him and gave him a giant birthday sundae. He loved it! It was a great day!!
Yesterday (Saturday) was his actual party and we all had SUCH a great time! We rented out the gymnastics room at the Y, so he and a bunch of his good buddies had an hour to run around and jump and play (even the parents got in on the action!). It was just fun for me to watch all the kiddos running around with big smiles on their faces. After that we went upstairs for pizza and cake (a green guitar - Owen's request) and more running around. I'd say the party was a big hit!!
